Words of Inspiration: Safety & Comfort

Friday, October 21st, 2011

I am always amazed with the speed of technology but,  I just love Facebook!  Not only is it  great for social networking but, the photo’s and  information we can get by “sharing” is priceless.  I would like to share some of these images with my readers.  With the economy the way it is more and more people find it difficult to feed  and care for their animals. My animals are like my children so, I could never imagine having to give them away because I couldn’t feed them or had no home for them. I think that all creatures take comfort in feeling safe. It doesn’t matter what life throws at you,  things just seem to feel better in the arms of the one you love or who loves you.  This is one of the most touching photo’s I have ever seen. Here we have a man who is homeless and wants nothing for himself but, wants food for his puppies. Those puppies feel safe and find comfort in the arms of this man.  It is a shame that we live in one of richest countries in the world and yet we have people living on the streets. Bless this man and his puppies. I hope they find compassion from their fellow neighbors and may their be plenty of food and shelter for them. May we all be inspired by this photo.

This photo can be found on Facebook: I’m a stray. I’m worth loving. Owner of the photo is unknown. If the owner of this photo wants it removed or a credit for sharing please contact Jowana Lamb.

Take Time to Enjoy the View!

Nature has much to offer, if we can find the time to visit.

Nature has much to offer, if we can find the time to visit.

Take time to enjoy the view, but at a safe distance.

Take time to enjoy the view, but at a safe distance.

During our recent trip to Tennessee, Terry and I traveled to several state parks. It was during that trip we remembered why we bought a motorhome in the first place.  With all the hustle and bustle of life, along with the high cost of gas we saw our motorhome spending more and more time sitting in the yard. We didn’t buy it so we could zoom from here to there down the inter-state but, to travel the road less traveled. To see how other  people lived. To enjoy the daffodils blooming on the roadside and the leaves changing in the fall.  To see deer feeding in the meadow, new born foals nursing with their mother and baby calves running  on the hillside. We even had to stop because there was a cow in the road, you can’t get any more country than that! Take time to enjoy just sitting on the porch of an old country store while eating ice cream or talking with a waitress in  a roadside  diner.   Take time to enjoy the beauty and miracles that nature has to offer.  I have to wonder sometimes if what we are missing is worth all the material things we spend all of our time working to pay for?  We only have one lifetime, the most valuable things are truely priceless.

From the Desk of Jowana Lamb: Words of Wisdom

Jowana riding Sundae.

Jowana riding Sundae.

Sometimes I will have things come across my desk that make me stop and really think just how lucky I am. People take to much for granted these days so, here are some things to think about and hopefully you will pass them along.

One: Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.

Two: marry a man/woman you love to talk to. As you get older, their conversation skills will be as important as any other.

Three: Don’t believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want.

Four: When you say ” I love you,” mean it.

Five: When you say “I’m sorry,” look the person in the eyes.

Six: Be engaged at least six months before you get married.

Seven:Believe in love at first sight.

Eight: Never laugh at anyone’s dream. People who don’t have dreams don’t have much.

Nine: Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but, it’s the only way to live life completely.

Ten: In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling.

To be continued…………..
