Ocean City Gift Show

Monday, November 21st, 2011

Well, it’s that time again, Christmas is just around the corner. This weekend I will be at the Ocean City, Maryland Convention Center for their three day gift show. Country Time Creations has a lot of new items for shoppers to enjoy. We still have all the great horse gifts and jewelry but, have added a ballet section. Our popular book and puzzle section has been expanded and we have some  awesome new towel designs. New to the racks are our hand designed hooded bath and swim towels for kids. They currently come  in three designs, hearts, horses and Sponge Bob. The event is for three days so, make sure you stop by and say hello while you load up on lots of great gifts for this year’s holiday giving.

Don't forget to ride the elephant!

Don't forget to ride the elephant!

Terry and I took our first bike vacation this past weekend. It was just the two of us, our motorcycle and anything we could fit into our saddle bags. Our destination was the Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire held at the grounds of Mount Hope Winery in Manheim, PA.. The winery was established in 1980 and the grounds are indeed beautiful. I really enjoy seeing how everyone is dressed. Some people really get into the spirit of things and are having so much fun. This past weekend was pirate weekend and there was lots of cool costumes. There is plenty to do at the faire, lots of rides and games, plenty of plays to attend, a mud ring, belly dancers, Knights on beautiful horses, the Royal court and fantastic shopping! Of course, being on a motorcycle makes shopping less fun, no room for packages. Thanks goodness for shipping. For more information visit The Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire.

After the festival we headed to Lancaster where we caught a play at the Rainbow Theatre, I think it was called “Uncle Chick’s Last Reguest”, or somehting like that. Anyway, it was pretty good.  I hope to return to the Lancaster area to do some Christmas shopping. It was a great weekend. Thank you for visiting.  I am sorry but, the comment box for this post is full.

Shenandoah Valley Hot Air Balloon & Wine Festival

Monday, November 24th, 2008
What has beautiful scenery, hot air balloons and wine?  The Shenandoah Valley Hot Air Balloon & Wine Festival in Virginia. Last year Terry and I found this festival by accident, as we do with most things. We enjoy the Shenandoah area,  hiking, horseback  and motorcycle riding and camping. We especially enjoy the mountain views. The festival is held at Historic Long Branch, a mansion sitting on 400 acres of hilly countrytside. As well as host to the festival, Long Branch is home to R.E.A.C.H., the Regional Equine Associates Central Hospital. The hospital provides medical and retirement services to horses.
Friday night features a balloon glow. If you want to see the balloons go up you have to be there early. Dress warm! After the balloons go up enjoy the many vendors and large variety of foods, live music, car displays and don’t forget the wine tasting. This year Terry and I attended the festiival with the First State Corvette Club members and displayed our car. There are also barn tours and activities for the kids. Unfortunately, the one thing you won’t find is horseback riding. But, many horses can be see from the hillside. If you have never seen the balloons up close, this festival provides a very enjoyable day. And don’t forget the wine!  www.historiclongbranch.com/balloonfest/

Kerbeck Chevrolet -Toys For Tots Event

Saturday, November 22nd, 2008

Corvette owners look forward to the annual Kerbeck Chevrolet Toys for Tots run. This year more than 700 Corvettes attended, collecting a mountain of toys for needy children. The event starts at a rest area,  about twenty miles outside of Atlantic City, New Jersey. The freeway is shut down as the cars are released to make the run.  Although, drivers are reminded of the 65 mile per hour speed limit, some drivers have reported to go up 150 miles per hour.  Cars stopped along the run can be seen taking pictures and waving the drivers on.  At the end of the run, participants drop off their toys and enjoy music and food and of course, Corvettes!
