Dakota and Jowana

Dakota and Jowana

Last week I offered some words of wisdom I had recieved in my e-mail. Today I’d like to continue the list.

Eleven: Don’t judge people by their relatives

Twelve: Talk slowly but, think quickly

Thirteen: When someone asks you a question you don’t want to answer, ask “Why do you want to know?”

Fourteen: Remember that great love and great acheivements involve great risk.

Fifteen: Say “bless you” when you hear someone sneeze.

Sixteen: When you lose, don’t lose the lesson.

Seventeen: Remember the three R’s: Respect for self, Respect for others; and responsibility for all your actions.

Eighteen: Don’t let a little dispute injure a great friendship.

Nineteen: When you realize you’ve made a mistake; take immediate steps to correct it.

Twenty: Smile when picking up the phone. The caller will hear it in your voice.

Twenty One: Spend some time alone.

Twenty Two:  a true friend is someone who reaches  for your hand and touches your heart.

From the Desk of Jowana Lamb: Words of Wisdom

Jowana riding Sundae.

Jowana riding Sundae.

Sometimes I will have things come across my desk that make me stop and really think just how lucky I am. People take to much for granted these days so, here are some things to think about and hopefully you will pass them along.

One: Give people more than they expect and do it cheerfully.

Two: marry a man/woman you love to talk to. As you get older, their conversation skills will be as important as any other.

Three: Don’t believe all you hear, spend all you have or sleep all you want.

Four: When you say ” I love you,” mean it.

Five: When you say “I’m sorry,” look the person in the eyes.

Six: Be engaged at least six months before you get married.

Seven:Believe in love at first sight.

Eight: Never laugh at anyone’s dream. People who don’t have dreams don’t have much.

Nine: Love deeply and passionately. You might get hurt but, it’s the only way to live life completely.

Ten: In disagreements, fight fairly. No name calling.

To be continued…………..

Hoop into Shape!

The family that hoops together, stays together!

No, it’s not a typo, I really said hoop into shape. What was once thought of as child’s play is now making a comeback in a major way. People everywhere are grabbing a hoop and finding out that not only is it fun, but a great work out. These hoops aren’t like the ones you buy in the store. They are hand made and wrapped in colorful tape. They come in different sizes and weights and can be used to perform some pretty cool tricks. The hoop can be used to work out the arms, upper body and most of all the abdomen. If your like me and hate the boreing gym workout, try something more creative. I did this and bounced on a rebounder and lost eight pounds. Forget the crunches! Grab some girlfriends and a couple of hoops, it’s endless fun for all ages. Even guys can do it.
